At High Prairie Outfitters we also offer "World Class" Saskatchewan Upland Bird Hunting. In our region, you can expect to harvest Hungarian partridge, Sharptail grouse and Ruffed grouse. The limits are 4 partridge and 2 sharptail grouse per day. Our Saskatchewan upland bird hunts run from September 15, through November 15. On a typical day’s hunt you can expect to enjoy a Quality Hunt over our well trained pointers and flushers. You are also welcome to bring your own well trained hunting dogs. About The Hunt:
We have our upland bird hunters fly into Regina, Saskatchewan. From there we are just a short 1 ½ hour drive to camp. During your stay, we have very nice, comfortable farmhouse lodging for our hunters with home cooked meals all included. At the lodge we have satellite TV, tables for playing cards and additional evening activities after dinner. In addition to the lodging and meals we also include bird cleaning and guided services in all of our guided Saskatchewan upland hunts.
A Typical Day:
You can expect to see ample coveys of Hungarian partridge every day during your Saskatchewan upland bird hunt. In fact we feel confident to go as far as to say that this area offers some of the BEST Hungarian partridge hunting found anywhere in North America! In addition to the big numbers of Hungarian partridge, we also offer World Class Sharptail grouse hunting.
The habitat that we hunt is perfect for upland bird hunting. We hunt cut grain fields, native prairie grass, old farmsteads, shelter belts, wind breaks as well as native Plum thickets and Buffalo Berry areas. This habitat is perfect for big ranging pointers or close ranging flushers alike. We offer professionally trained dogs to enhance the hunt, or you are welcome to bring your own dogs.
We can set up a full day’s hunt or a half days hunt depending on your group’s wants and needs. We pre-scout all of our Saskatchewan upland bird hunting areas to ensure high bird counts on EVERY HUNT! We also have so much prime upland bird hunting habitat in our area that we DO NOT hunt the same cover twice during an entire season. You call expect to hunt fresh birds and fresh ground daily!
